Welcome to the Brisbane City6 Day Medical Centre. We are a fully computerised comprehensive General Practice, offering a wide range of servicesto all age groups.


Our doctors are SPECIALIST General Practitioners or in their final stages to becoming General Practice Specialist GP’S; that is, they have two medical degrees. Their primary medical degree (MBBS) and their General Practice Specialist degree (FRACGP). This correlates to a minimum of ten years medical training. Our doctors also have additional training in various areas to assist our patients with specific health care needs.


All our doctors participate in regular continuing education to keep up to date with the latest medical information and treatments. The latest in medical equipment and highly trained nursing staff are available to assist in your care. We take the quality of care we offer our patients very seriously so all our systems and processes are designed to ensure you receive the best quality care available.

 

Yellow fever Vaccination

 

Brisbane City 6 Day Medical Practice is World Health Organistion (WHO) approved to administrator the Yellow fever Vaccine. 

Yellow fever is a serious disease which occurs in Africa and South America. It is transmitted by the female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and can be fatal.

Yellow Fever Endemic Zones And Distribution Vaccination may be required before visiting parts of Africa and South America considered to be endemic zones. This is to stop the disease spreading into other countries and to protect the travellers themselves.

 

 

  

Influenza:

 

The NHMRC recommends annual influenza vaccination for all individuals who are at risk in influenza-related complications including children and adults from 6 months of age who have:



  • diabetes


  • heart or kidney disease


  • lung disease


  • other chronic disease requiring regular medical follow-up or hospitalisation


  • suppressed immunity or immune deficiency


  • over 65 years of age


  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander origin aged 50 years and older, or aged 15-49 with underlying medical conditons

The vaccine is free if you are in the above catagory. If unsure, call our receptionist and they will screen your questions with your doctor.

 

In order to make vaccinations more accessible, our practice will be offering vaccination clinic Monday through Friday between 12-2 daily during our express appointments for our existing patients or call our receptionist to make an appointment which is convienent to you. If you do not fit in the above catagory, there will be a cost for the vaccination however, the consultaton with your doctor will be Bulk Billed if you have a valid Medicare Card.

 

Also, we can provide group flu vaccination to company's that wish to vaccinate their empolyees at discount rate. Call our medical centre and ask for the business manager to arrange prices and schedule 

 

Appointment System

We have a booking system, which will minimise waiting times. We need your help to ensure its success. You can book your appointments by calling 07 3221 3366.


Cancellation Process

Please phone the practice to cancel appointments. Please do not use the email to cancel same day appointments. Please ensure you ring us well in advance if you cannot make your appointment so we can offer your appointment to another patient that is in need.


New Patients:


If you are a new patient to the practice could you please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time so you can fill out the appropriate paperwork and get you in on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may be rebooked so as not to cause increased waiting times for our other patients. We like to pride ourselves on trying to keep to appointment times.


Medicals:


If you have booked a medical you will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to see the nurse for her to do her preparations.


Gardasil:


We now can offer the Gardasil at our practice. You will be bulk billed for the consultation and the injection if you book an express appt. Please tell our receptionists when making an appointment so we can make the appointment for you the see the nurse for your injection.


Bulk Billing Criteria

We bulk bill patients who meet any one the following criteria:


1.You are a Brisbane Resident and your annual gross income is under AU$40,000 (Proof may be requested in the form of a payslip).


2.You are a Brisbane Resident and you are a concession card holder. (eg Pension Card or Health Care Card)


3. Care Plans and Psychological Care Plans - are bulk billed
We also have our 45-49 year old Risk factor check that is also bulk billed.



For those who do not meet the above criteria, you are considered a private patient. You need to pay for the appointment and claim from Medicare.Also there are some exclusions to bulk billing for everyone - see practice information.


Fees Structure


Annual Health Check

Fees:  $155 (Medicare rebate of $66.45)

20 to 30 minutes with your doctor

 

Females: papsmear, breast check, discussion of medical concerns, blood tests, urine test.

 

Males: assessment of risk factors, blood tests, urine test. There is a comprehensive health assessment questionnaire to fill out piror to the appointment.

 

General Consultation

$65 (Medicare rebates $34.30)

10 minutes

 

Single non-complex problem with obvious diagnosis

 

Long Consultation 

$65 (Medicare rebates $34.30)

20 minutes

 

Pap smears, Single Complex problem, or multiple non-complex problems

 

Express Appointment - for existing patients

Bulk-Billed

6 minutes

 

Repeat script, renewal of previously written referrals & laser

 

Molescan

$102 (Medicare rebates $34.30)

20 minutes

 

Fully body check, using computerised scanning system
